Victoria, May 1, 2018 –Namir Anani, President and CEO of the Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC) was named this year’s outstanding partner by Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan), recognizing his significant contribution to the college and institute community.
The Outstanding Partner Award was presented during CICan’s Business and Industry Breakfast which takes place every year during the association’s annual conference, and celebrates the close collaboration between colleges, institutes and their industry partners.
“Under Namir Anani’s leadership, ICTC has been actively engaged with colleges and institutes across Canada and with CICan for many years”, said CICan President and CEO, Denise Amyot. “Namir understands their role and has lent a powerful voice to CICan’s advocacy work to build understanding of and support for our institutions and the need for increased collaboration between colleges and industry to address ongoing skills challenges in periods of economic uncertainty and disruption. His collaboration in our advocacy initiatives and events with Members of Parliament over the past several years are a few examples of his deep engagement.”
As President and CEO, Namir Anani is the chief strategist and driving force in bringing ICTC’s world-class centre of expertise and services to industry, education, and government; enabling Canada’s advancement as a leader in innovation and productivity in the global economy. Before joining ICTC, Namir previously led Policy Development & Research at the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC). He has also held several executive leadership roles in both the private and public sectors including the Department of Canadian Heritage (Director General & CEO), CGI consulting, Nortel, and Novartis (Switzerland).
