Ottawa, November 1, 2017 – Colleges and institutes Canada (CICan) welcomes the creation of the new Canada Research Coordinating Committee (CRCC) that will support the growth of research and innovation on campuses across the country.
The new structure, was announced on October 27, by the Minister of Science, the Honourable Kirsty Duncan, and the Minister of Health, the Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor. Its objective will be to improve collaboration among the federal granting councils and the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) to the benefit of researchers and students across the country.
CICan looks forward to working with the CRCC and sees its creation as a positive step towards a simpler and more “innovator-friendly” approach to supporting research and innovation.
