Nicola Valley Institute of Technology

The Nicola Valley Institute of Technology (NVIT) is B.C.’s Aboriginal public post-secondary institute. Founded by the five First Nations bands of the Nicola Valley, NVIT provides educational and skills enhancement opportunities that are essential for Aboriginal students to champion community advancements for today’s and future generations. NVIT is grounded in Aboriginal culture, tradition, and Indigenous Knowledge. As a provincial Aboriginal institute, NVIT has a mandate to deliver quality education throughout the province of B.C.. NVIT operates from two campuses located in Merritt and Vancouver. The institute delivers online courses to learners in all areas of the province. NVIT also offers community learning, continuing studies and a transferring option. That option allows students to start at NVIT for the first two years, which provides smaller class room sizes, more intimate relationship with instructors and less expensive tuition before setting off to a larger institute.
