Step 1: Nomination guidelines are posted to the CICan website by Monday, November 4, 2024. Electronic announcement is sent out to member institutions via CICan contact lists.
Step 2: Requests for applications to sit on a Selection Committee* are sent out by Monday, November 11. Applications are received by Monday, December 9, 2024.
Step 3: The members are selected based on regional and constituent representation by Monday, December 16, 2024.
Step 4: Call with Selection Committee members week of January 13, 2025.
Step 5: The deadline for institutions to submit their nomination electronically to CICan is 23:59 EST Monday, February 24, 2025.
Step 6: Nomination packages are sent electronically to each member of the Selection Committee no later than Monday, March 10, 2025.
Step 7: Nominations are reviewed and evaluated by each Selection Committee by Monday, March 31, 2025.
Step 8: Results are compiled by CICan and sent to the Selection Committee by Monday, April 21, 2025.
Step 9: A conference call with the Selection Committee to confirm the recipients takes place the week of April 21, 2025.
Step 10: CICan informs the President of the winning institution and non-winning institutions by Monday, April 28, 2025.
Step 11: Award recipients are honoured virtually at the June 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and recognized on CICan’s website.
Step 12: After the Annual General Meeting, a plaque is sent to the college or institute president’s office, for the college or institute to display.
