Who should attend
This Leadership Institute is designed for those currently in the role of manager, program chair, or associate director, who seek to enhance their leadership abilities, progress in their careers, and better understand the trends and issues that are having an impact in their current management position.
Key areas will be examined, including:
- leadership competencies;
- environmental context: changes and challenges for colleges and institutes;
- moving to a broader institutional focus: management vs leadership;
- senior management and governance expectations;
- team relationships and team building capacity;
- leading in a unionized environment;
- the value of mentorship and coaching: for self and for a team; and,
- key elements and challenges of the manager role.

Guest social tickets: If you are planning on brining a guest to the event, you may purchase tickets for them to attend one or both of the two planned social dinners.
Travel: Please ensure your registration for the Institute is confirmed by CICan before booking any travel or hotel accommodations.
Registration guidelines: Due to high demand for this Institute, registration is limited to 3 participants per institution on a first-come, first-served basis. When you register, your registration fee will show up as a pending transaction. Your credit card payment will only be processed once we have confirmed your registration. If the number of 3 participants has been reached, you will be placed on a waitlist.
