Green Pathways for Small Communities (GPSC) helps rural, remote, and northern communities strengthen their economies and prepare for a sustainable future.
Over 9 months, colleges and institutes will work with employers and community organizations in at least seven rural, remote, and northern communities to identify skills gaps, create tailored training solutions, and enhance green workforce planning.
The training solutions created will support the community’s transition towards a greener economy, while close collaboration with employers will ensure they have the skilled workforce necessary to grow and remain competitive in emerging sectors.
Over 120 people in communities with a population of less than 10,000 will receive free skills training to enhance their employment profiles, including 75% from groups traditionally underrepresented in the workforce.
