Ottawa, July 7, 2023 – CICan is proud to announce that Denise Amyot, who has served as CICan’s esteemed President and CEO for over a decade, has received this year’s 2023 Distinguished Service Award.
Under Denise Amyot’s visionary guidance, CICan has witnessed transformative growth and remarkable achievements. Her strategic insights and unwavering commitment to inclusive sustainability have propelled the organization to unprecedented levels of growth and success, empowering its members to thrive in an ever-evolving educational landscape.
“I am truly honoured and humbled to have been surprised with this year’s award,” said Denise Amyot, President and CEO, CICan. “This recognition is a testament to the incredible work of the entire CICan team and our member institutions across the country. I feel incredibly privileged to have had the trust and support of such a talented and passionate group of individuals.”
Every year, CICan’s Presidents’ Leadership Network honours one of its members, current or past, with the award in recognition of their exceptional leadership and remarkable contributions to the national college and institute system. The committee felt it appropriate to honour Denise with the award in her final year for her outstanding leadership, tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to excellence. Furthermore, the committee agrees these efforts have grown CICan into a more sustainable, connected and equitable association which will undoubtedly impact the organization’s success for years to come.
Denise announced her decision not to extend a third mandate with CICan earlier this year and will remain President and CEO until her successor is named sometime this Fall.
